Once the helicopter crew arrived on the scene about 10 minutes later, a park ranger was with the victim, who was lying on a rock outcropping with steep cliffs on each side.

The helcopter crew lowered rescue equipment to the park ranger who placed the victim, a 28-year-old woman, in the equipment.

Crew members hoisted the woman about 50 feet from the cliff's edge into the helicopter, according to the CHP.

Since she was in need of immediate medical assistance, the helicopter crew took the woman directly to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

A CHP paramedic aboard the helicopter gave the woman medical assistance until she arrived at the hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
