Emergency Crews Respond To Panicked Calls

A disturbance at an apartment complex near Marin Country Mart brings police and paramedics to the scene.

Twin Cities police and Ross Valley paramedics responded to an early morning disturbance in the Larkspur Landing area. A woman was taken by ambulance to Marin General Hospital to be treated for an overdose of ecstasy.

The gentle sound of rainfall was shattered at 2:45 a.m. Sunday with screams of "Help me!!" The screams that one witness described as "bloody murder" went on for several minutes as residents of the Serenity at Larkspur apartments flooded the Twin Cities Police Department switchboard with calls.

When police arrived, they found a woman in emotional distress and a man who claimed he was trying to calm her down. The man was later identified by police as the woman's husband.
