Giants Fan Steals American Flag Off Ferry

Woman threatens roommate with scissors after being asked to leave.

While providing extra patrol for the ferry returning from the San Francisco Giants game, a Twin Cities Police Officer was contacted by an employee who reported a male subject had taken the American Flag off the ferry boat. A San Rafael man was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and resisting arrest. He was booked at the Marin County Jail. The Ferry Boat captain declined to file theft charges at this time.

A resident in the 500 block of Larkspur Plaza Drive reported via 911 that a couple weeks ago she had given her roommate a 30-day notice to move out. She tried to talk to her about it and the roommate became upset, started yelling and grabbed scissors, stating that she was going to kill her. After contacting both parties, a Larkspur woman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 10 block of Via La Cumbre reported she put mail in her mail box and put the flag up. She then saw a vehicle going the wrong direction up the hill stop in front of her mail box and take the mail out. The vehicle was a tan four door vehicle, possibly a small SUV, occupied by a male subject wearing all tan clothing.

A resident of the 10 block of Sonora Way reported that the previous date, his parents received a telephone call from Jamaica stating that they had won $5 million. Later, her mother received a call stating that his father had been in an accident, but the father returned home about an hour later advising that he had not been in an accident. Documentation was provided for the suspicious calls.

An employee of the Big 5 Sporting Goods store, located at 110 Nellen Avenue, reported via 911 that he was in foot pursuit of a subject who had stolen a pair of shoes and was now running down Lucky Drive. The subject was detained at the rear of the Town of Corte Madera Corporation Yard. An Indiana man was arrested for Shoplifting and released on a citation.

An employee of a business in the Village Shopping Center reported that a subject, who was with four other persons, took a pair of Gucci sunglasses and two pair of Dior sunglasses. The subject was last seen headed through the center of the mall. The incident was unwitnessed. The in-store video was reviewed and showed three subject's taking one pair of sunglasses each for an approximate loss of $1,000.

An employee of the AT&T store in the Corte Madera Town Center reported that a male subject came into the store, grabbed a display iPhone valued at $650, and ran out of the store. He was last seen headed under the freeway. An officer located a subject matching the description at the bus pad under the Tamalpais Drive over-crossing who was identified as the subject who took the phone. A San Rafael man was arrested for Petty Theft and Violation of Probation. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

A resident of the 300 block of Bretano Way reported that her husband had put bills in the mail box to be picked up. Several days later, she received a call from her bank advising someone altered a check and cashed it for $2,406. She has an image of the altered check showing the name it had been made out to. A Fraud report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

A Corte Madera resident reported that over several days, pieces of jewelry were taken from the apartment of his mother, who lives in the 5500 block of Paradise Drive. The approximate loss is $27,000. A report was taken for documentation of the Grand Theft.

A Greenbrae man reported that while his vehicle was parked at a business in the 200 block of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, the catalytic convertor was stolen. Documentation of the theft was provided.

After being contacted in an occupied vehicle in the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal parking lot, a Greenbrae juvenile male, a Kentfield juvenile male and a Mill Valley juvenile male were reprimanded and released to their parents for being Intoxicated in a Public Place.

A resident in the 10 block of Lark Court reported a vehicle parked with juveniles inside possibly smoking marijuana. TCPD Units contacted two Mill Valley juvenile males and a Larkspur juvenile male. A small amount of marijuana was destroyed at the scene.

Loss Prevention Agents at Macy’s, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported they had a subject in custody for the theft of $169 in merchandise. A Novato man was arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

A resident of the 100 block of Via Lerida reported she had put seven bills with checks in her out-going mail. She has discovered that someone stole the mail and altered and cashed one of the checks for $1,920. The other six checks are unaccounted for at this time. A Fraud report was taken and there is additional follow-up pending.

Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Larkspur Landing Circle, a Rocklin woman was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked into the Marin County Jail. A Texas man was also arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and booked into the Marin County Jail.

While participating in a San Anselmo Police Department DUI check point, a TCPD Officer arrested an Oakland woman on an outstanding warrant held by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. She was booked into the Marin County Jail and was also issued a citation for Driving on a Suspended License.

A resident of the 11 building of Skylark Drive reported male subjects standing by a vehicle talking loudly and that they had set off a vehicle alarm. A Las Vegas Man and a Mountain Ranch man were arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. Both were booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident of the 200 block of Sausalito Street reported that her debit card account has been used for charges. There were a total of seven transactions for a loss of approximately $300. A Fraud report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.

While out at the Macy’s store in the Village Shopping Center on unrelated follow-up, a TCPD Officer reported Macy's Loss Prevention Agents had arrested a shoplifter. The loss was approximately $15. A San Pablo man was arrested for Shoplifting and released on citation.

A resident in the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue reported a male subject is attempting to steal a vehicle. They advised the subject has locked himself inside the vehicle and is trying to hotwire it. TCPD Units contacted a Larkspur man who arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place and booked at the Marin County Jail.

While on patrol, a TCPD Officer located a subject sleeping in a vehicle in the 200 block of Nellen Avenue. A San Rafael man was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia and was released on a citation. He was also advised of the ordinance against sleeping in a vehicle.

A resident of the 200 block of Via Casitas reported that her vehicle was vandalized. The vehicle was keyed on the roof, fenders, and hood, with an estimated loss value over $950. A report was taken to document the vandalism.

A Sausalito resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in a lot at the Village Shopping Center, the rear license plate and license plate frame were taken. A theft report was taken and the license plate number was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

A TCPD Officer attempted to catch up to a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The vehicle was located and stopped, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol near the San Rafael bridge toll plaza. A Mill Valley man was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

A Larkspur resident reported that while his Santa Cruz mountain bike, valued at $1,400, was parked and locked in the Village Shopping Center; it was taken from the bike rack. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 306 calls for service. This included five calls related to accidents with property damage only and one hit and run accident. There was one commercial burglary. There were two calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in two arrests.
