Greenbrae Woman Is Reportedly Injured As She Tries To Block Car

A near-collision escalates as one driver gets out of her car to confront another driver, then is allegedly hurt in a hit-and-run.

The following incidents were reported by the Twin Cities Police between Sept. 5-11, 2012. Suspects are innocent unless proven guilty. Arrests do not necessarily equal convictions.

• A Greenbrae resident reported that while she was in the area of Via Casitas and Corte Del Norte, a vehicle struck her in the knee and took off. It was determined that she had been a driver involved in a near collision with the other vehicle and when she got out of her vehicle and stood in front of the other vehicle, the other driver refused to talk with her and sped away, striking her knee. A report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

• A resident of the 20 block of Parkside Way reported her two daughters, who are unwanted at the residence and appeared to be intoxicated, may have jumped the fence and are in the backyard of the residence going through a shed. TCPA Officers contacted the subjects at the residence. One of the subjects, a Greenbrae woman, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia, and the other subject, also a Greenbrae woman, was arrested for Trespassing and Violation of Probation. They were both booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A security officer for The Village shopping center reported he was observing two male subjects, wearing all black clothing, walking through the mall at approximately 2:00 a.m. Contact was made with a Richmond man and a Pinole man. The Richmond man was arrested for Possession of Burglary Tools and Possession of Marijuana. He was released after processing at the TCPA station on a Misdemeanor Citation.

• A resident of the Larkspur boardwalk reported his silver with black writing Marin Rocky Ridge 12 speed men's mountain bike, with rock shocks on the front, valued at approximately $1,500, was stolen from where it was locked in a bike rack in the parking lot of the boardwalk. The lock had been cut. A Grand Theft report was taken.

• A TCPA Officer reported the arrest of a Greenbrae juvenile male at Redwood High School for Possession of Marijuana on a School Campus. He was released to his parent on a Citation.

• A resident of the 100 block of Stetson Avenue reported she discovered her right passenger door open and it appears someone entered the vehicle. Taken were a Tomtom GPS, and a make-up bag.  The loss was estimated at $200. A Petty Theft report was taken.

• A resident of the 100 block of Eliseo Drive reported it appears that someone may have tried to enter their residence via a screen door on two different occasions. They advised they discovered the screen was off, and the window partially opened on a bathroom window behind the house. A report was taken to document the incident.

• A resident of the 10 block of Madera del Presidio reported his red black and gray men's 27 speed Specialized Rockhopper mountain bicycle was stolen from the garage. The value of the bicycle is estimated at $1,100. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• An employee of Mollie Stone’s Grocery Store, located in the Bon Air Shopping Center, reported they had a Mill Valley juvenile male detained for the theft of alcohol. The subject was arrested for Commercial Burglary and was released to his step-father on a citation.

• A Larkspur resident reported his locked vehicle was stolen near the corner of Beach and Powell Street in San Francisco. He contacted the San Francisco Police Department who advised he would have to drive to their department to fill out a report, or because he was already at home, he was told he could request a courtesy report at TCPA. He reported his FastTrak transponder, a folding chair, jacket, a cell phone, and GPS unit were in the vehicle. A courtesy Auto Theft report was taken for SFPD and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A San Francisco resident reported while his vehicle was parked in a lot at the Marin Country Mart shopping center, someone broke the front passenger side window and took a backpack containing a binder and an iPad. An Auto Burglary report was taken to document the incident.

• A Mill Valley resident reported witnessing three or four subjects had broken the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in a lot at the Bon Air Shopping Center, in the area of the CVS Store, and took something out of the vehicle. The caller was able to provide descriptions of the involved subjects and vehicle. A Marin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located the vehicle on Highway 37. A San Pablo man and two Vallejo men were arrested for Auto Burglary and Conspiracy. They were booked at the Marin County Jail after being processed at TCPA.

• A Larkspur resident reported sometime today his locked red 10 speed Specialized mountain bike was taken from the bike rack at Redwood High School. He was unsure of the exact value.  Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A caller reported, via 9-1-1, that a female subject in the area of First Street and Montecito Avenue was swerving and driving into the oncoming traffic lanes. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a Mill Valley woman, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. She was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• Pursuant to being located in an occupied vehicle in the area of the 1100 block of Larkspur Landing Circle, a San Francisco man was arrested for Possession of Narcotics. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 40 block of Walnut Avenue reported her son has shoved her, twisted her arm, and thrown things around the house. A Larkspur Juvenile male was arrested for Assault/Battery and booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.

• A Corte Madera resident reported she went to her husband's house, in the 10 block of Rice Lane, because she had been unable to get a hold of him and they got into an argument over their children, who are staying with him. She claimed she was pushed and slapped by the subject, but declined medical response. A report was taken for domestic battery. Officers have attempted contact with the other subject several times with negative results. There is further investigation pending.

• A Corte Madera resident reported, while it was parked in the bike rack at the Marin Rowing Club, someone cut the lock on his bike and stole it. The bicycle is described as a black and grey men’s 21 speed Diamond Back hybrid mountain/road bike. The TCPA Officer reviewed video at the scene and was able to obtain a suspect description. A Theft report was taken for the stolen bicycle and it was entered into Automated Property System. There is further investigation pending.

• A resident of the 700 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported someone broke into her boyfriend’s car, which was parked in the garage, by breaking a window out. Some backpacks were stolen, one of the backpacks had with an iPhone inside. An Auto Burglary report was taken.

• A resident of the 2100 block of Redwood Highway reported the theft of his bicycle. The bicycle is an older blue Bond Trader men's 24 speed mountain bike with big fat tires and yellow shocks on front. It is valued at approximately $1,000. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

• A security officer for The Village shopping center reported receiving a report of three male subjects who stole two pairs of jeans and a wallet from two different stores. The subjects were last seen walking to the parking lot. The wallet was taken from a customer. A report was taken for the theft of the wallet.

• A resident of the 10 block of Mohawk Avenue reported someone filed a tax return using his name and Social Security Number. An Identity Theft report was taken.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, a San Pablo man was arrested on an outstanding warrant held by the Solano County Sheriff’s Department. He was also determined to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• An employee of the Safeway store, located in the Corte Madera Town Center, reported a male subject had loaded up a shopping cart with beer, lunch meat and laundry detergent, left the store without paying for it, and placed it all into a vehicle. He was last seen headed southbound on Tamalpais Drive. A report was taken and there is further action pending as he is a known subject.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 600 block of Magnolia Avenue, a small amount of marijuana was located in a vehicle being driven by a Corte Madera man. The marijuana was seized for destruction.

• A Tiburon resident reported while her vehicle was parked in a lot at the Bon Air Shopping Center, someone stole her son's iPhone from the vehicle. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A caller reported a possible intoxicated driver in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Park Way, traveling at approximately 5 mph. Officers located the vehicle and contacted the vehicle. The driver was determined not to be under the influence.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 374 calls for service. This included one call related to an accident with minor injuries, four hit and run accidents and four property damage only accidents. There were three auto burglaries, one commercial burglary and one residential burglary. There were two calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest.
