Intoxicated Woman Locks Herself In Ferry Restroom

Dec. 7-13: Twin Cities Police receive reports of stalking, burglary and shoplifting

• Twin Cities Police Department units responded to the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal on a report of an intoxicated female who had locked herself in the restroom on one of the ferry boats and wasn't responding to the staff trying to talk to her. Prior to the unit’s arrival, they advised they had gotten the restroom door open and the subject is breathing but unresponsive. Medical was requested for extreme intoxication. A Larkspur female was transported to Marin General Hospital for medical clearance, after which she was booked into the Marin County Jail for Public Intoxication.

• A resident of the 300 block of Prince Royal Drive reported that her neighbor was stalking her last night at the Corte Madera council meeting. She also reported he uses his cell phone to video her and her children while at home in their backyard. Advice was given.

• A San Francisco resident reported a theft from her vehicle while it was parked in a lot at the Village Shopping Center. Taken was a bag full of miscellaneous items including two pairs of earrings, a shirt, and cosmetics. Documentation for the theft was provided.

• A business in the Corte Madera Town Center reported a woman, in her late twenties to thirties, wearing dark clothing, had been in the business attempting to cash fraudulent traveler’s checks. They advised the subject left the business in a white vehicle. Documentation was made for the attempted fraud.

• A resident in the 10 block of Post Street reported an identity theft. She reported that she had been contacted by the IRS advising that she owes back taxes due to someone unlawfully using her Social Security number. An Identity Theft report was taken.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the area of US 101 Southbound and E. Blithedale, a Mill Valley man was arrested for Exhibition of Speed. He was released on a citation at the scene.

• The Kaiser call center called TCPD to report a resident of the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive had called them because she and her boyfriend were having a verbal argument inside his vehicle when he accelerated rapidly and then quickly hit the brakes, causing her head to hit the windshield of the vehicle. She was reporting to them that since the incident she has had neck and head pain. A TCPD Officer contacted the woman. Advice was given and a report was taken for documentation.

• A resident of the 40 block of Sycamore Avenue reported she received a call from a male subject stating he was her grandson and needed money because he was in an accident in the Dominican Republic and was arrested. The caller gave her specific instructions on how to send $2,500 via Western Union. She said when she asked her "grandson" where he was born, the caller disconnected. She said she called her son and grandson and determined everyone is okay. Documentation was provided for the attempted fraud.

• A resident of the 300 block of West Baltimore Avenue reported his home was entered via unknown means. He thought it was possibly via the patio door. Taken were a computer, cameras, and jewelry. Approximate total loss is $10,000. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• Loss Prevention Agents for Nordstrom, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported they have a subject in custody for shoplifting. A juvenile Mill Valley female was arrested for the theft of $159.95 worth of merchandise. She was released on a citation to her mother at the scene.

• A Larkspur resident reported that while their vehicle was parked in the lot at the Cost Plus Center, it was entered by unknown means. Taken was a White House/Black Market shopping bag containing $255 worth of clothing that had just been purchased. It was determined to be a theft from an unlocked vehicle. Documentation for the theft was provided.

• A resident of the 10 block of Madera Del Presidio reported the registration tab was stolen from her license plate. She did not know where the theft occurred, but noticed it missing during the past week and believes it may have occurred in San Francisco. A courtesy report was taken for the San Francisco Police Department. The registration tab number was entered into the Automated Property System.

• A resident of the 2100 block of Redwood Highway reported she received her AT&T home phone bill and noted there were two International calls in the amount of $44 which she did not make. She contacted AT&T who told her to file a police report. The TCPD Officer contacted AT&T and was told these calls are not always a scam. They reported that the loss has been forwarded to their Claims Department. Documentation was provided.

• The Michigan State Police called to report their agency had located a Motorola radio reported stolen to TCPD on October 12, 2011. They advised a citizen had purchased the radio on eBay and brought it into their department to have it checked out. No one is in custody. The radio was removed from the Automated Property System. There is possible follow-up pending.

• A Mill Valley resident reported his locked bicycle had been stolen from in front of the Bay Club Marin, in the Corte Madera Town Center. The lock was cut on the blue and white 56 cm tall, 24 speed, Sectur Specialized Road Bike with a white seat, and white handle grips. The bike also had a tire repair kit underneath the seat. The loss is approximately $1,000. A Grand Theft report was taken.

• A Greenbrae resident reported via 9-1-1 his locker had been broken into while he was at Gold’s Gym, located at 10 Fifer Ave. Taken were his pants, wallet containing his driver’s license, car keys, and cell phone. A report was taken and there is further action pending.

• While out on the above report at Gold’s Gym, the TCPD Officer reported he located an additional locker burglary victim. Contact made with a San Rafael resident who advised the lock was cut and personal items taken. A report was taken.

• A resident of the 300 block of Via La Paz reported someone egged his vehicle and there is green paint on the driveway. There are no witnesses and there is no suspect information. Documentation was provided for the vandalism and Officers will provide extra patrol.

• A resident in the 40 block of Tamal Vista Boulevard reported two pairs of jeans were stolen from the dryer. Two pairs of True Religion jeans were stolen. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• Loss Prevention Agents for Nordstrom, located in the Village Shopping Center reported two juvenile females are in custody for shoplifting. A Nevada juvenile female and a San Anselmo juvenile female had been detained. After further investigation, Nordstrom declined prosecution. The parents were contacted and responded to pick up the juveniles.

• A resident of the 300 building of Old Quarry Road North reported his motorized off-road bike was stolen during the night. He reported it is a 2001 red Honda XR80, off-road motorbike with red handle-grips. The motorbike has a number 8 on the front of the handle bars, black number on a white background. A Stolen Vehicle report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• An employee of a business in the 1600 building of Larkspur Landing called to report her vehicle was stolen. She advised keys might have been left in the vehicle. A Stolen Vehicle report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A resident in the 200 block of Via La Cumbre reported via 9-1-1 that another person at the residence had kneed him in the chest. Units contacted the victim and his wife. A Greenbrae man was arrested for Battery and Resisting Arrest and booked at the Marin County Jail.

• The Sacramento Police Department reported they located a black motorcycle, which had been reported to TCPD as stolen from the 300 building of Old Quarry Road North on October 14, 2011, in their city. They advised it is not damaged, not stripped, and is missing one plate. They reported that they have a suspect is in custody. The owner of the motorcycle was notified and the vehicle was cleared from the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A resident in the 80 block of Wiltshire Avenue reported their residence was entered. They advised a MacBook computer and headphones were taken and their son's room was ransacked. There are no signs of forced entry. They advised the residence had been left unlocked. The loss is approximately $2,300. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• The Hayward Office of the California Highway Patrol reported they located a vehicle which had been reported as stolen from to TCPD just that morning, from the area of the 1600 block of Lincoln Village Circle. The vehicle was not damaged, stripped or burned and one plate is missing. There is no one is in custody. The owner was notified and the vehicle was cleared from the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A resident of the 200 block of Madrone Avenue reported the theft of a desktop computer from their residence sometime during the day. They advised they had noticed the front door was ajar when they arrived home, but there were no signs of forced entry. The loss is approximately $2,000. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• A Mill Valley resident reported that her purse was stolen while it was on the floor by her feet when she was in the Starbucks in the Village Shopping Center. She advised the purse is beige and contained her wallet with all of her credit cards, $40 cash, and miscellaneous papers. Apparently there are two subjects involved who attempted to make purchases at multiple stores at the Village Shopping Center, but were not successful. A credit card was successfully used at one store for a loss of approximately $550. A report was taken and the credit cards were entered into the Automated Property System. There is further investigation pending.

During this one week time period, the Twin Cities Police Department had 286 calls for service. This included two calls related to accidents with minor injuries, four hit and run accidents and five property damage only accidents. There were two commercial burglaries and three residential burglaries. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
