Larkspur Fire Crews Help Contain 'Suspicious" Grass Fire in East San Rafael
Small fire comes one day after a separate vegetation fire burned in an area near Kerner Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.
Fire crews have contained a vegetation fire that burned in a marshy area in eastern San Rafael this afternoon, a fire official said.
The fire charred less than an acre near Windward Way and Baypoint Village Drive, Larkspur Fire Chief Robert Sinnott said.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, he said.
Sinnott said the fire is considered suspicious and that San Rafael police are interviewing a person of interest in the case.
"It's kind of an unlikely location for a fire to start for things other than human-caused," he said.

A separate vegetation fire burned in an area nearby on Wednesday afternoon. That blaze was reported at about 4:30 p.m. near the 2900 block of Kerner Boulevard.
Larkspur firefighters assisted in fighting today's fire, and Corte Madera firefighters helped cover a San Rafael fire station while crews from that city were out, Sinnott said.
