Twin Cities Police officers investigating connections between a series of car thefts in the early hours Wednesday.

Twin Cities Police chased down and tasseled one suspect in a series of auto burglaries early Wednesday in the area of Via Hidalgo. A second suspect was arrested later in the morning.

Fidel Hernandez of Larkspur was booked into Marin County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $50,000.

Police responded to a report of a car with a broken window and two subjects running away from the scene on Corte Lenosa. A patrol found Hernandez, who attempted to flee before he was tasseled. Hernandez was checked out at Marin General Hospital, then released into police custody.

In a follow-up to the case, a second suspect, a minor, was arrested and booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall for auto burglary.

Police received two other reports of auto burglaries on Via Hidalgo that they believe might have been committed by Hernandez that same night.

Police received another report received later Wednesday night that a car on Madera Boulevard had been broken into and a iPad and laptop computer were stolen, along with $300 in cash.
