Police: Corte Madera Bank Robber Tied to Jan. Robberies in Greenbrae, Strawberry

The robber is also suspected of robbing the Union Bank in Greenbrae on Jan. 9 and attempting to rob the Union Bank in the Strawberry Village shopping center on Jan. 22

A man who robbed a Chase Bank branch at the Corte Madera Town Center on Wednesday morning is believed to have robbed bank in Greenbrae in January and tried to rob a bank in Strawberry later that month, a Central Marin Police Authority sergeant said Thursday.

The man entered the bank at 437 Corte Madera Town Center at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday and gave a teller a demand note, Sgt. Hamid Khalili said.

The teller handed over cash and the man fled, Khalili said. No weapon was seen.

The robber is described as white, 35 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and roughly 170 pounds. He has brown-gray hair and green or blue eyes, and was wearing a plaid shirt, dark jacket, dark pants, black gloves and a brown beanie, police said.

The man is also suspected of robbing the Union Bank at 575 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Greenbrae on Jan. 9 and attempting to rob the Union Bank at 329 Redwood Highway Frontage Road in the Strawberry Village shopping center on Jan. 22, Khalili said.
