Sheriff's investigators have released a photo of a person of interest in an armed robbery that occurred in Marin City on Friday evening, and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

He is described as a black man about 30 years old with dreadlocks and a mustache. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white hoodie with what may have been a black-and-gray camouflage-style print pattern, and dark pants.

A resident of Terners Drive called deputies at about 7:25 p.m. Friday and reported that a robbery victim was at his door asking for help, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the residence, and the male victim told investigators that he had traveled from the East Bay to Marin County to sell at least 3 pounds of marijuana to a prearranged buyer.

According to the sheriff's office, the victim was approached by four people -- three armed with semi-automatic guns -- who robbed him of the marijuana, a cellphone, car keys and a wallet.

The suspects were last seen running down Terners Drive toward Drake Avenue, deputies said.

The victim, who was not injured during the incident, told deputies that he only sells marijuana to cannabis clubs and people with a medical marijuana card. He claimed it was his first time being robbed at gunpoint while conducting his business, according to deputies.

The victim believes the suspects arranged the sale with the intention of robbing him, deputies said.

Anyone with information on the person of interest is asked to call the Marin County sheriff's Investigations Unit at (415) 473-7265 or Bay Area Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477)
