Police to Conduct Training Exercise at San Clemente Park on Monday

The day-long training will involve multiple police in uniform and will appear very realistic.

If you see a lot of police action by San Clemente Park on Monday, it’s nothing to worry about.

The Central Marin Police Authority will be conducting a day-long emergency training exercise at 330 Golden Hind Passage in Corte Madera from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The training will involve multiple police in uniform and using department equipment, as well as civilian role players.

“The exercise may appear very realistic, but will only be a training exercise,” said Lt. Michael Norton. “It is essential that the Central Marin Police Authority train in a very realistic manner so that we are best prepared to serve the citizens and the communities when a real emergency occurs.”

The training will not, however, involve any simulated ammunition or explosions. No roads will be closed during the exercise and San Clemente Park will remain open, but the rear parking lot of the Lycee Francais la Perousee school may be closed.
