Rash of Car Burglaries Strike Twin Cities

Officers found a slew of cars with windows smashed and items stolen Tuesday night on Larkspur Landing and Redwood Highway.

 

The Central Marin Police Authority responded to five reports of cars broken into and ransacked, and one vehicle theft Tuesday night on Larkspur Landing Cr. in Larkspur and Redwood Highway in Corte Madera.

At 7:31 p.m. a man on Larkspur Landing called police to report his car window had been smashed and a Sony computer worth about $800 was missing.

Officers on the scene also found a white 2003 Saturn LW300 with the passenger side window smashed. In this case the owner said nothing was taken, but police then found a blue 2013 VW Passat with the front passenger side window shattered, and a black iPhone4 was stolen.

Around the same time, at 7:39 p.m., police responded to a call on Redwood Highway where a man reported his rear window had been smashed sometime in the previous 10 minutes, and his wife’s luggage containing an iPad, clothing, makeup and work material was missing.

Officers there also found another window smashed on a white VW Beetle rental car, and the driver said his backpack, camera and work ID were taken. Some of his property was recovered at the other car burglary on Larkspur Landing. 

Later that night at 9:04 p.m., a woman reported that she parked her car in the upper lot on Larkspur Landing on July 20, and just returned to find that it was no longer there. Officers checked the area and couldn’t find the car, and sent out a Bay area bulletin reporting it stolen.
