Reminder: Fireworks Are Illegal
Larkspur Fire Chief Sinnott asks residents to plan a safe Fourth of July
Fireworks are an integral part of 4th of July celebrations, but please leave them to the professionas, asks Larkspur Fire Chief Robert Sinnott.
Chief Sinnott reminds residents that all fireworks are illegal in Marin County.
Chief Sinnott sent in an e-mail: "While the 4th of July is a wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends, the Fire Department is reminding everyone to have a safe Independence day. ... Over the years, fireworks have caused serious injuries and fires. The vegetation in Marin County is already tinder dry and we must be vigilant and take all necessary precautions to prevent a wildfire."

One way to enjoy fireworks safely is at the Marin County Fair. Law enforcement and fire officials will be confiscating fireworks and citations will be issued.
