Robin Hood Gone Wrong: Suspect Steals From The Needy

Twin Cities Police Log Feb. 22-28: Cash donation box stolen; Girls are chased by suspect; Redwood student booked for false ID and bringing alcohol onto campus.

 

• A Twin Cities Police Officer responded to a business in the Bon Air Shopping Center for a report of the theft of a locked acrylic cash donation box. The theft was caught on video. A report was taken and there is follow-up pending.

• Officers responded to the area of Tamalpais Drive and Madera Boulevard on a report by two Corte Madera juvenile females that they were approached by a male subject stating "hey ladies." They said they ran from him and that the subject then ran after them for about one block, and then he disappeared. Officers checked the area for the subject with negative results. The two juveniles were transported to one of their residences to meet with a parent.

• Personnel from Redwood High School reported they believed a student was under the influence. Officers contacted the student. An 18-year old Tiburon male student was arrested for Possession of False Identification, Possession of Alcohol on School Grounds, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• Pursuant to being contacted by an officer on foot on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, a San Rafael man was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia, and a Probation Violation. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 20 block of Foremast Cove reported two of his unlocked vehicles had been entered sometime during the night. Taken were a Garmin GPS system and a Tom-Tom GPS system.

• A resident in the 30 block of Prince Royal Drive reported via 9-1-1 that someone rang her front doorbell and when she looked out the window, she saw a teenager wearing a green "superhero costume" laying on her front lawn. The subject then got up and ran off with several other juveniles. Contact was made with four juveniles who were warned on their behavior and sent on their way.

• A resident of the 300 block of Corte Madera Avenue reported that when he came home he found jewelry was taken from his bedroom. It is unknown if other items have been taken at the time of report. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• A resident of the 130 block of Stetson Avenue reported that he returned from having been on vacation the past week and found two mountain bikes, a Gary Fisher and a Raleigh, total value of approximately $1,600, were taken from his carport. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

• While on patrol in the 2100 block of Redwood Highway, Officers located a group of subjects. A 9-1-1 call was also received reporting that a group of subjects were in the street and that a female was crying in that same area. A Larkspur man was arrested for Public Intoxication and a Mill Valley man was arrested for Public Intoxication and Battery on a Peace Officer. Both subjects were booked at the Marin County Jail.

• The manager of an apartment building in the 400 block of Via Hidalgo reported someone shot paint ball pellets at the garage and at apartment windows. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• An employee of a business in the Village Shopping Center reported that her driver’s license and two credit cards were stolen from her purse that had been in a locked room at the business. She reported there have been attempts to use her credit cards. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.

• A resident of the 800 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported damage to her gate. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A caller reported she drove past a man acting strangely in the 700 block of Tamalpais Drive. He pulled up a clump of grass, shook the dirt off, then placed the grass in the entrance way to the gas station. Then he picked the grass back up and repeated his actions. A homeless man was located and arrested for Public Intoxication. He was taken to Helen Vine Treatment Center for detoxification.

• A resident in the 20 block of Lakeside Drive reported that someone punctured the tires of his father's vehicle. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A resident of the 60 block of Creekview Circle reported the theft of his bicycle from a closed garage within the past month. The bicycle is a men's chrome Bianchi Pista, single speed, value $1,000. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• An employee of a business in the 120 block of King Street reported the locked business was accessed and a computer was stolen. The computer is valued at approximately $900. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.

• A caller from the Budget Inn, 706 Meadowsweet Drive, reported a male subject who appeared to be intoxicated, creating a disturbance and refusing to leave. A San Diego man was arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest. A second subject was located down inside one of the rooms with a possible broken hand. A Bethel Island man was transported to the Marin General Hospital Emergency Room via Paramedics.

• A resident of the 100 block of Grove Avenue reported she had received notice from her bank that she was the victim of Identity Theft in the amount of $1,400. An Identity Theft report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.

• A Larkspur resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in the area of Cane Street and Magnolia Avenue, the passenger side mirror was damaged. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A resident of the 20 block of Monte Vista Avenue reported via 9-1-1, two subjects were in his neighbor’s house. Subjects were associated with a vehicle parked in the area. The vehicle was located and a Kentfield man was arrested for Possession of Narcotics. A Novato man was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant held by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. Both subjects were booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A Loss Prevention Agent for Mollie Stone’s Grocery Store, located in the Bon Air Shopping Center, reported he had a female subject in custody for the theft of merchandise. A San Rafael woman was arrested for Shoplifting and released at the scene on a citation. A Greenbrae juvenile male subject, who had also been detained, was released and turned over to his parents without charges.

• A resident in the 100 block of Valley Way reported she returned home and found computers had been taken from her residence, as well as other property had been disturbed. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• A resident of the 170 block of Corte Ramon reported her men's 21 speed Specialized Hardrock Disc, black, silver and white bicycle, value undetermined, was taken from her unlocked garage.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 319 calls for service. This included one call related to accidents with minor injuries, three hit and run accidents and six property damage only accidents. There were two commercial burglaries and three residential burglaries. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
