Scare At Hall Middle School Results In An Arrest

Twin Cities Police Report: Sept. 14-20

• Twin Cities Police received a report Monday that a parent threatened a school counselor at Hall Middle School. The parent was not at the school at time of report. An Emergency Protective Order was obtained for the school counselor. The subject, Cherie Safapou of Larkspur, was later arrested on Tuesday for Violation of the Restraining Order and booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 370 block of Larkspur Plaza Drive reported that he had received a death threat by text message on his cell phone. A report was taken for Criminal Threats and there is follow-up investigation pending.

• Twin Cities Police responded to the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal for a report by the Ferry Boat Captain that a subject on the boat was causing a disturbance. Units arrested a San Rafael man who was booked into the Marin County Jail for being Intoxicated in a Public Place.

• TCPD Units responded to the Molly Stone’s grocery store in the Bon Air Shopping Center for a report by their Loss Prevention Agent that they were detaining a subject for the theft of merchandise. A San Rafael woman was arrested for Shoplifting and Violation of Probation and booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 500 block of Via Casitas reported that she received a call from her credit card company advising her of fraudulent activity. Sometime during September, her Sears Master Card was used at a Wal-Mart store in Maryland. Total amount charged was $590. A report was taken to document the Fraud and forwarded to the appropriate Law Enforcement agency in Maryland for possible follow-up.

• A Kentfield resident reported that someone had stolen his 21 speed black Ibis Mojo SL mountain bike, valued at $4,300, when it was parked, locked, in the bike rack at the Mt. Tam Racquet Club, located at 1 Larkspur Plaza Drive. The theft was documented.

• Resident of Great Britain reported that they are visiting from the UK and sometime during the night, their rental car was keyed while parked in the parking lot at the Corte Madera Inn, 56 Madera Blvd. The Vandalism was documented.

• A resident of the 430 block of Redwood Avenue reported that sometime during the night, it appeared her unlocked vehicle had been ransacked. Items including electronics and loose change were moved but not taken. The incident was documented and she was advised to call back if she finds anything actually missing.

• A resident of the 800 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported that sometime during the night, her vehicle was stolen and she has possible suspect information. A Vehicle Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. There is follow-up investigation pending.

• A resident of the 10 block of Meadowridge Drive reported that a Fed Ex package was taken from his front steps. Documentation was provided for the theft. Loss is approximately $100.

• A resident of the 700 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported that someone using his Social Security Number had purchased a vehicle in Oregon. A Report for identity theft was taken and forwarded to the appropriate Law Enforcement agency in Oregon for possible follow-up investigation.

• The doorman for the Silver Peso Bar, 450 Magnolia Avenue, reported there was a man in his mid 30's to early 40's who is swearing at patrons. He also reported that the subject’s dog just bit someone. TCPD Units contacted the dog owner, a Larkspur man, and the bite victim a Corte Madera resident. A Dog Bite report was taken and will be forwarded to the Marin Humane Society for information and possible follow-up.

• A store in the Village Shopping Center reported that a female subject carrying a shopping bag put three hand bags in the shopping bag and left the store without paying for them. She was last seen headed towards the center court area of the shopping center. Total loss $1,500. The area was checked for the responsible subject and merchandise with negative results. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

• Pursuant to being contacted during a traffic stop, a San Rafael man was arrested for Providing False Identification to a Police Officer. A complaint will be submitted for an Immigration Warrant. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 70 block of Altura Way reported that she believes someone attempted to enter her home sometime during the afternoon. She reported that when she came home there were pry marks on the dead bolt and the entire locking mechanism had been turned in the door, however it does not appear that entry was gained to the residence. A report taken for an Attempted Residential Burglary.

• Pursuant to being contacted in an occupied vehicle in the 400 block of Magnolia Avenue, a Texas man and a Colusa woman were warned for possession of Marijuana in a vehicle and a small amount of marijuana was confiscated for destruction.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the area of 2 Bon Air Road, a Vallejo man, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 100 block of Piedmont Court reported that entry had been made to the residence sometime yesterday. Items taken included jewelry and purses, for an approximate loss of $7,000. There were no signs of forced entry located. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• A business in the Village Shopping Center reported the theft of a pair of Prada Sports sunglasses approximately one hour ago. Loss is approximately $350. The theft was unwitnessed. Documentation of the Theft was provided.

• A Kentfield resident reported that his wife's bicycle, a copper colored Santa Cruz Blur 10 speed, valued at approximately $2,000, was stolen from the rack on top of their car yesterday while it was parked in the area of her workplace in the 1300 block of South Eliseo Drive. The front wheel of the bicycle was left behind. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

• A Security Officer for Madera Vista Apartments, located on Robin Drive, reported some suspicious subjects who appeared to be teenagers, have been sitting in a small sedan in the area. The vehicle was located and Greenbrae man, a male Larkspur juvenile, a male Sausalito juvenile and a female juvenile were contacted. A small amount of marijuana was located in the vehicle and the subjects were warned for Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle. The marijuana was seized for destruction.

• When a TCPD Officer attempted to stop a vehicle near the east end of Rich Street, the driver ran from the vehicle into the trailer park at 11 Rich Street. A perimeter was set up with the assistance of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the Mill Valley Police Department. After a search of the area the subject was located. A Sebastopol man was arrested for an outstanding Warrant held by the Dept of Corrections for Violation of Parole and for Possession of Stolen Property. A passenger in the vehicle, a Ukiah female, was also arrested on an outstanding Warrant held by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. Both were booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A Security Officer at the Lincoln Village Circle apartment complex reported a suspicious male moving things out of a possibly empty apartment. A TCPD Officer made contact with the subject at the residence. A San Francisco man was arrested for an outstanding Warrant for Failure to Appear on a Driving While Intoxicated charge held by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A caller reported that a male subject is hitting people on the head in front of the Silver Peso Bar, located at 450 Magnolia Ave. A TCPD Officer arrested a San Rafael man for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 500 block of Larkspur Plaza Drive reported she can hear a verbal argument, possibly between two females, somewhere in the area of her residence. A Larkspur woman was located and was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 80 block of Via Hermosa reported that his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the area of his residence, was entered and his gym bag with an iPod in it was taken. Documentation of the theft was provided.

• A San Rafael resident reported that someone broke the back driver's side passenger window of her vehicle while it was parked in the lot at the Village Shopping Center and took a tote bag which contained work clothes and a flash drive for an approximate loss of $120. An Auto Burglary report was taken to document the theft.

• A Corte Madera resident reported that someone entered their vehicle via unknown means and stole her Apple laptop valued at $2000. An Auto Burglary report was taken for documentation.

• After contacting subjects in an occupied vehicle in the area of the 2800 block of Redwood Highway, a TCPD Officer conducted a probation vehicle search and arrested a San Rafael woman for Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia and Violation of Probation. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A Corte Madera resident reported that her purse was stolen out of her vehicle while it was parked unsecured in the 70 block of Casa Buena Drive. The purse contained miscellaneous makeup items and a passport. Documentation was provided for the theft.

During this one week time period, the Twin Cities Police had 371 calls for service. This included four hit and run accidents and six property damage only accidents. There were two auto burglaries and one residential burglary. There were three calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest.
