Serial Bank Robber Strikes Again – This Time at Wells Fargo at Corte Madera Town Center

The alleged robber, also linked to robberies at Union Banks in Greenbrae and Strawberry and Chase Bank in Corte Madera, is described as a white man in his 50s with a mustache and wearing a knit cap and carrying a dark blue shoulder bag.




An alleged bank robber who has eluded law enforcement agencies in Marin for eight months struck again Wednesday morning, robbing the Wells Fargo Bank in the Corte Madera Town Center of an undisclosed amount of money, according to Central Marin Police.

Police were called to the Wells Fargo Bank at 427 Corte Madera Town Center at 9:14 a.m. Wednesday on a report that a white man in his 50s walked into the bank and gave a bank teller a note demanding money, Sgt. Hamid Khalili said. The man, who had a mustache, wore a knit cap and a dark hoodie and carried a dark blue zippered shoulder bag, took an unknown amount of cash and the note, and left the bank, Khalili said.

No weapons were used or seen in the incident, and no one was injured, he said.

The alleged robber matched the description of similar robberies that occurred on January 9, 2013 at Union Bank on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Greenbrae and on July 17, 2013 at Chase Bank at 437 Corte Madera Town Center, as well as an attempted bank robbery on January 22, 2013 at Union Bank in the Strawberry Village shopping center at 329 Redwood Highway Frontage Road.
