A woman and her husband crawled out of their SUV on Sunday when he vehicle — towing a trailer — overturned on the westbound Highway 37 in Novato, sources said.
The crash was reported at 11:46 a.m. just east of the Highway 101 connector, according to the California Highway Patrol. A silver Nissan Xterra towing a trailer ended up on its side, 25 feet off the road, the CHP reported.
Novato Fire District Battalion Chief Gerald McCarthy said the woman was driving and her husband was in the passenger seat when the woman lost control of the SUV between Novato Creek and the Hanna Ranch Road exit. The SUV went off the road and tipped over on the passenger side, as did the recreational trailer.
Both people crawled out on their own power and did not have any complaints of pain, McCarthy said. The vehicle was towed, according to the CHP.
