TCPD Log July 27-August 2: Corte Madera Post Office Vehicles Vandalized

Grafitti vandals strike Neil Cummins Elementary School as well.

A Corte Madera resident reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered while it was parked at the Bon Air Shopping Center.  Taken were a belt and a bottle of lotion.  Theft was documented. 

A resident of the 100 block of Sycamore Ave. reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered and the center console was ransacked.  Taken were a cell phone charger, hands free headset and a canvas bag with miscellaneous contents.  Theft was documented. 

Pursuant to being contacted on a traffic stop, a Rohnert Park man was arrested on an outstanding Sonoma County Warrant.  He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 50 block of Corte Del Bayo reported she is receiving threats from a subject she knows via the telephone.  The other party was contacted and advised of the complaint and agreed to stop.

An employee of a business in the 70 block of Tamalpais Drive reported that she just received a telephone call from a subject who has been stalking her on and off for the last two years.  The subject told her that he was outside the business and could see her.  The area was checked for the subject with negative results.  Advice was given.

A resident of the 10 block of Birch Ave. reported that her son’s custom one speed purple BMX bicycle with foot pegs was stolen from their backyard.  The bicycle is valued at $400.  Theft was documented. 

Loss prevention officers for Nordstrom, at the Village Shopping Center, reported they had a subject in custody for the theft of merchandise.  A Sonoma woman was arrested for suspicion of shoplifting and released on a citation.  The total loss was $172.

A caller reported that an intoxicated subject had gotten into a vehicle in the 400 block of Magnolia Ave. and driven away.  The area was checked for the vehicle and subject with negative results.

Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 200 block of Tamalpais Drive, a Greenbrae juvenile female was arrested for being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Possession of a Fictitious Government Identification.  She was issued a citation and released to a parent.

A resident of the 100 block of Walnut Ave. reported that his vehicle had been entered during the night.  The only thing missing is the remote garage door opener.  Theft was documented. 

An employee at Neil Cummins Elementary School reported that the boy’s bathroom had been vandalized with graffiti sometime during the night.  Photographs were taken of the graffiti vandalism and documentation was provided. 

A caller reported that while he was walking on the path in the area of the Marin Rowing Club, 50 Drakes Landing Road, he observed a male subject laying in the bushes with his head on a rock and he was unsure if the subject was breathing.  A Mill Valley man was contacted and arrested for suspicion of being Intoxicated in a Public Place and Violation of Probation.  He was booked at the Marin County Jail after being medically cleared at Marin General Hospital.

Pursuant to being located in an occupied vehicle in the 300 block of Robin Drive, a Ross juvenile male, Larkspur adult male and a Kentfield juvenile male were reprimanded and released for Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle.

A Kentfield resident reported that the lock was cut from her daughter’s “Gary Fisher” brand Wahoo green and black bicycle and it was stolen while it had been parked in the bicycle rack in front of the Bay Club Marin in the Corte Madera Town Center.  Total loss is $500.  Theft was documented. 

A San Rafael resident reported that while his white Specialized Alli 16 speed bicycle, valued at $1200, was locked in the bicycle rack in front of the 24 Hour Fitness gym in the Marin Country Mart; it was taken via the lock being cut.  A report was taken to document the theft.

Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 10 block of Larkspur Plaza Drive, a San Rafael man was arrested for Possession of Prescription Medication without a Prescription and released on a citation.  A small amount of marijuana was also taken for destruction.

A resident of the 300 block of Redwood Ave. reported that her locked vehicle had been entered and a GPS system, valued at $200, had been taken from the glove box.  An Auto Burglary report was taken.

A San Rafael woman reported that while she was shopping at the Corte Madera Town Center, she left her wallet on a counter at a business and did not realize it until later.  When she went back to check, the wallet was gone.  The wallet contained her ID, credit cards and $80 cash.  A report was taken to document the theft and advice was given for the stolen credit cards.

Pursuant to a 911 call, TCPD Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Mariner Green Drive.  The female resident reported that during a verbal argument with her husband, he pinned her down by her arms on the bed.  Bruising was located on her arms.  The husband had left the residence prior to the unit’s arrival.  A report was taken for a possible Domestic Battery and forwarded to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office for possible follow-up.

TCPD Units responded to a report of a non-injury accident in the 800 block of Via Casitas.  A Greenbrae woman was arrested for suspicion of Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked at the Marin County Jail.

A Corte Madera resident reported she had left her wallet on the counter at a business in the Corte Madera Town Center.  When she returned, the wallet was missing.  The wallet contained her Guatemalan identification, $400 cash and a debit card.  Documentation of the theft was provided.

A Greenbrae resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the Marin Country Mart shopping center, someone had entered it and stolen a bag, GPS unit, wallet, skateboard, miscellaneous CD’s and a car charger.  Estimated total loss is $200.  Documentation of the theft was provided.

Pursuant to being contacted in an occupied vehicle in the 130 block of E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., a San Rafael man and a Novato man were reprimanded and released for Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle.  The marijuana was seized for destruction.

The Corte Madera Post Office reported that two of their vehicles had been vandalized.  Photographs were taken of the graffiti and documentation was provided.

A business in the Bon Air Shopping Center reported that an ex-employee had been making threats and harassing them via text messages.  A report was taken for documentation.

A resident in the 200 block of Old Quarry Road South reported that her vehicle was stolen by her ex-husband.  An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

A Santa Monica woman reported that her credit cards had been fraudulently used at the Apple Store and the Lucky Brand Jeans store in the Village Shopping Center.  A Fraud report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 306 calls for service.  This included 5 property damage only accidents.  There were 2 auto burglaries.  There were 2 calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in 1 arrest.
