Tiburon Police Officer Hurt In Crash

Motorcycle officer taken to Marin General Hospital after a collision with a station wagon on Tuesday afternoon.

A Tiburon Police motorcycle officer was seriously injured when he was involved in a crash with another vehicle near Trestle Glen around noon on Tuesday.

The officer was responding to report of a collision at the intersection of SR-131 and Trestle Glen when he was involved in a collision with a 2007 Volvo station wagon. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The officer was transported to Marin General Hospital with possible broken bones in his shoulder, arms, and ribs, and head trauma. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the Volvo, 46-year-old Cheryl Jordan of Tiburon, was not injured in the crash.

Both lanes of SR-131 were closed at 12:20 p.m. while Tiburon Fire Department paramedics administered aid. The traffic lanes re-opened at approximately 12:48 p.m.
