Twin Cities Police Log: April 6-12

Shotguns stolen from parked car.

• A resident in the 10 block of Via Belardo reported that his vehicle was broken into in the area of his residence by someone who pried the door open. Taken were two shotguns and a set of golf clubs.

• A Mill Valley resident reported that his motorcycle, while parked in the area of the Bay Club Marin in the Corte Madera Town Center shopping center, was a victim of a hit-and-run accident. There were no witnesses to the accident.

• A Novato resident reported that when she returned to her vehicle in the parking lot of the Gold’s Gym at 10 Fifer Ave., she discovered a male subject inside her vehicle going through her belongings. The subject left the area in a silver Cadillac SUV, possibly an SRX, with paper dealer plates. She located her wallet in the area, but discovered her cell phone and checks that were made out to her were missing. Further investigation is pending.

• A Mill Valley resident reported that her iPhone was stolen while she was at Corte Madera Town Park. Loss is approximately $400.

• A Novato resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of S. Eliseo Drive, the left rear window of the vehicle was broken. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

• The CVS store in the Bon Air Shopping Center called and reported that a theft of liquor had just occurred. The subject, who appeared to be male, but sounded like a woman when they talked, left the store with approximately $100 in liquor without paying for it. The subject was last seen leaving the shopping center in a white Ford Econoline van with tinted windows. Another caller reported the same vehicle driving erratically on U.S. 101.

• A resident in the 70 block of La Cuesta Drive, who had been the victim of a residential burglary last week, reported he came home today and found that the screens on several windows of his residence had been cut in what appeared to be attempts to enter the residence again, however, it appears that entry was not made and nothing is missing.

• A Larkspur resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in the area of the il Fornaio Restaurant, in the Corte Madera Town Center shopping center, it was broken into via unknown means. Taken were a pair of sunglasses and a Garmin GPS unit.

• A Novato resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the area of 300 Drakes Landing Road, a magnetic business sign, valued at $30, was stolen from the side of her vehicle. Later the same date, she called back to advise that she had been contacted by a person that had been parked in the same area who had found the sign stuck to their vehicle. She recovered the sign on her own.

• A woman advised that her ex-boyfriend had showed up at her residence, located in the 100 block of Hawthorne Ave., and while there, had hit her over the head with a mandolin. She was now walking away from the residence towards downtown Larkspur. Officers located both subjects in downtown Larkspur and the male subject, a Larkspur resident, was arrested for Domestic Battery. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 40 block of Corte Lenosa reported that while her vehicle was parked near the residence, someone stole the front license plate. A report was taken and the license plate number was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• Officers responded to a report of a three car collision in the area of Paradise Drive and San Clemente Drive. On arrival, they located a non-injury accident.

• Officers responded to a report of a juvenile party at a residence in the 10 block of Hawthorne Ave. Upon arrival, an unsupervised juvenile party was located with alcohol being consumed. A notice of violation for the Larkspur Social Host Ordinance was issued. Approximately 24 juveniles were released to their parents.

• A resident in the 1400 block of Casa Buena Drive reported that one of the tires on his vehicle had been slashed. There are no witnesses or suspects.

• A resident of Fairfax reported that her Toshiba laptop computer was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of the Book Passage bookstore. The loss is approximately $400.

• During this one week time period, Twin cities Police had 296 calls for service. This included one hit and run accident and six property damage only accidents. There were two auto burglaries and one attempted residential burglary. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
