Vandals Hit Joe Wagner Field, Neil Cummins

The following information from May 25-31 was supplied by the Twin Cities Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

• Neil Cummins Elementary School reported graffiti to several parts of the school.

• Graffiti vandalism was located at the Joe Wagner Little League baseball field and on the Alexander Avenue Bridge. Photographs of the vandalism were taken for documentation.

• A resident in the 10 block of Baltimore Ave. reported graffiti on a wall. Photographs of the graffiti vandalism were taken for documentation.

• A resident in the 190 block of Birch Ave. reported graffiti on the side of his residence. Photographs of the vandalism were taken for documentation.

• A San Rafael resident reported during the five minutes that he was inside the Big 5 Sporting Goods store, located at 110 Nellen Ave., his unlocked bicycle, a light blue Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike, was stolen from in front of the business. Video cameras at a neighboring business showed the involved suspect to be an unknown race male subject wearing a dark colored “hoodie” and blue jeans.

• A San Rafael resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the area of the REI store in the Corte Madera Town Center, it was broken into. An HP Elite Book laptop computer, valued at $1,200 was taken.

• A resident in the 300 block of Via Casitas reported that sometime during the night, her unlocked vehicle was entered and her GPS unit and UCSF Parking Permit were stolen.

• A Loss Prevention Manager for a business in the Village Shopping Center advised that they had an employee who had embezzled approximately $4,200 in product and was now in the store with approximately $1,200 in product they had asked her to return. A report was taken and will be forwarded to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office for follow-up.

• The Bank of America in the Bon Air Shopping center advised there was a subject in the bank attempting to cash a fraudulent check for approximately $1,800. The subject left prior to TCPD arrival; however the bank was able to retain some of the documents. A report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

• A resident in the 5400 block of Paradise Drive reported that her storage locker had been broken into. A snowboard and snowboard boots, total loss of $350, were taken. A Residential Burglary report was taken for documentation.

• A business in the 5600 block of Paradise Drive reported that someone had attempted to break into the business by trying to smash a sliding glass door. Entry was not gained, but two ceramic planters were stolen from in front of the business. 

• The Bank of America in the Bon Air Shopping Center reported there was a subject in the bank attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $2,250. An Oakland man was arrested for Commercial Burglary, Passing a Fictitious Check and Identity Theft. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 30 block of San Clemente reported that her vehicle had been entered via unknown means. Her GPS unit, a jacket and iPhone charger were taken. An Auto Burglary report was taken for documentation.

• A Greenbrae resident reported that her vehicle was stolen from the area of the Safeway store in the Corte Madera Town Center. She had left a key on the floorboard of the vehicle. The area was checked with negative results. An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A resident of the 20 block of Parkview Circle reported that someone had entered her locked garage and stolen approximately $800 in tools and miscellaneous items. A Residential Burglary report was taken for documentation.

• Redwood High School requested assistance with checking a student who they believed to be in possession of Marijuana. A 17 year old male Larkspur resident was arrested for Possession of Marijuana on School Grounds and was booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.

• A business in the Corte Madera Town Center reported that a female subject had used a fraudulent name and credit card number to obtain spa services. The subject had already left the business, but is known to other persons who work there. A Commercial Burglary report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

• A Larkspur resident reported that his son’s red, black and white Specialized Hot Rock mountain bike, valued at $700, was taken from the bike rack at Henry C. Hall Middle School when it was left there overnight. The lock was cut in order to steal the bike. Documentation for the theft was provided.

• A resident in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue reported that someone had entered her residence, possibly via a rear bedroom window, and had stolen jewelry. The total loss is still being determined. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 282 calls for service. This included two hit and run accidents and three property damage only accidents. There were two auto burglaries, four commercial burglaries and three residential burglaries. There was one call related to Driving while Intoxicated, however no DUI arrests were made.
