Wet And Wild On The Roads

Rain and geysers, yes geysers, make for tricky driving conditions.

As if the winter rain storm and winds weren't enough, there's a brand new geyser in Larkspur making road conditions difficult. A pipe or sprinkler burst in the median on Larkspur Landing Circle late Saturday night, sending water gushing 10-15 feet in the air and giving drivers the sense of passing through a waterfall.

Emergency crews were called at 11:30 p.m. to investigate the leak. Greenbrae Fire Department Engine No. 16 arrived and shut down the leak at midnight.

A few drivers stopped in the roadway before passing through the gusher, but there were no significan traffic problems as a result. The road isn't usually too busy late at night, except for Airporter buses and patrons of local businesses, including the Courtyard by Marriott hotel and the Marin Brewing Company and 24 Hour Fitness at Marin Country Mart.
