Town council to begin discussions and possible action on the construction of housing at the Tamal Vista property.

The future of the WinCup site will be the prime topic when the Corte Madera Town Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.

WinCup, a manufacturer of plastic food and beverage containers, is closing its Corte Madera plant in June. The plant is located near the Department of Motor Vehicles on Tamal Vista Boulevard. Commuters on southbound Highway 101 for decades have seen steam flowing from the plant.

Corte Madera is expected to convert the land into a mixed-use zone, allowing for a the construction of housing.
