Details For Police Consolidation Being Ironed Out
Twin Cities and San Anselmo Police officials will review personnel changes during a special meeting Thursday regarding the new Central Marin Police Authority.
The San Anselmo Town Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Dec. 27, to finalize a few items before the San Anselmo Police Department officially consolidates with the Twin Cities Police Authority.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the San Anselmo Town Council Chambers, 525 San Anselmo Avenue.

The council members will consider giving the town manager permission to adopt a transition agreement between the town and the San Anselmo Police Officers’ Association.
They will also receive a report on the memorandum of understanding between the Twin Cities Police Officers’ Association and the Twin Cities Police Authority, for January 2013 through January 2015.

Another report the council will hear will be on the final execution of creating the Central Marin Police Authority with the joint powers agreement between San Anselmo, Larkspur and Corte Madera. The San Anselmo Council approved the consolidation at its Dec. 12 meeting.
The council will also receive a final report on amending the salaries and benefits for the members of the new unit.
According to the Marin Independent Journal, some San Anselmo police personnel have agreed to change their retirement age from 50 to 55.
