Did The DMV's Computer Glitch Affect You?

Field offices around the state were hit by computer issues that frustrated many customers.

 

The trip to the California Department of Motor Vehicles was more frustrating than usual Tuesday when computers at field offices around the state went down, according to several news sources.

The problem was originally reported by the DMV on Twitter as a "communications issue with Verizon and AT&T." It was later discovered to be a hardware problem. Some offices were forced to close their doors due to the computer glitch.

“All DMV services have been restored. Thank you for your patience,” read a tweet from the DMV around 1 p.m.

AAA field offices were unaffected, enabling customers to use their field offices to conduct some DMV business.
