Do You Support a Sales Tax Increase?

Officials are considering it in Larkspur.

Are you in favor of a one-cent sales tax increase in Larkspur? 

Most Larkspur residents who recently voted in a telephone survey said "yes," according to the Marin Independent Journal

The measure would be used to "maintain public safety services and repair aging and deteriorating neighborhood streets, roads and potholes, among other services," according to city documents.

In the survey, conducted by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates, they found that of the residents who responded, the majority of them said the condition of Larkspur's streets and roads was a big issue. 

A total of 356 residents were surveyed and three in five people supported a one-cent sales tax measure.

According to the Marin Independent Journal, Larkspur City Councilmembers must decide by early August if they want to place the tax measure on the ballet.
