Christmas Tree Harvesting

Marin County Parks invites the public to come out to Ring Mountain to pick out, cut down, and take home their own holiday tree from the preserve. Girl Scout Troops #31522 and #37029 will also be running a holiday swag-making booth using garlands harvested from the preserve. Because pine trees are invading the preserve and threatening native habitats, this event will serve as both an important restoration project as well as a fun holiday event for the whole family.

Marin County Parks is hosting this very special, one time only event in order to seek out and remove the invasive pine trees from the preserve.

Ring Mountain is home to very sensitive habitat and some of the rarest plants on earth, including the Tiburon Mariposa Lily, which grows nowhere else in the world. Habitat restoration and natural resource preservation is critical to the survival of these ecosystems. We want to welcome the community to join the battle against invasive species, while also participating in a family friendly and memorable holiday event.
