Huffman Organizes Forum To Save State Parks

What's happening around town? Tuesday-Wednesday, Dec. 15-16

TUESDAY
• Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael), Marin Community Foundation President & CEO Dr. Thomas Peters, and the Marin Open Parks Coalition will host a Town Hall on Tuesday with the theme, “Working Together to Keep our State Parks Open.”

The forum is an opportunity to brainstorm on ways to keep state parks open in both the short and long term. The meeting will be primarily focused on local solutions for state parks in Marin County and Sonoma County. The meeting will be at the Osher Jewish Community Center, 5-7 p.m.

• The College of Marin Board of Trustees will review design and cost updates for the Child Study Center and the new Academic Center on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Student Services Building cafeteria in Kentfield. There will be a special meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday to consider a fund development feasibility study.

• The Tamalpais Union High School District board will consider negotiations with the district's faculty and staff unions at a 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the Kreps Conference Center of Redwood High School.

• Mother Goose is on the loose at the Corte Madera Library on Tuesday, 10 a.m. Children ages 0-24 months are invited to bring their parents or caregivers to this weekly storytime. There is also a afternoon storytime for older children at 3 p.m.

WEDNESDAY
• The Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors is looking for ways to fund watershed projects. The board will meet Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., to consider a grant to revitalize Deer Park. The board will meet at 220 Nellen Ave. in Corte Madera.
