When the late Bernice Baeza enlisted a group of volunteers for a campaign to reopen the abandoned Lark Theater in 2004, she did so in the hope that it would become more than just a movie theater but a hub for the entire community.
Although Baeza died July 21, her predecessors have tried to fulfill her vision by hosting a wide array of events at the circa-1936 movie house on Magnolia Avenue in downtown Larkspur. That vision continues Monday, Oct. 22 as the Lark is broadcasting the third and final debate between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney, and Patch will be in the house.
“The whole idea behind the Lark is to be a community gathering place,” said Lark spokesperson Kathleen Gaines. “Larkspur and the broader community has really embraced that.”
On the heels of Patch's debate viewing party in Novato, we'll be on hand at the Lark to take it all in and gather reaction from attendees afterwards.
The debate will focus on foreign policy with CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer moderating from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. The event kicks off at 6 p.m.
