Learn More About Larkspur Ferry Parking Fees at Upcoming Meetings

The public is invited to two open house events to learn more about a proposal to start charging for parking at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal on weekdays starting in 2014.

The meetings are scheduled for 3:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 8 at the Ferry Terminal.

The Golden Gate Bridge Board's public hearing is at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at the terminal, 101 East Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, onboard the M.S. Marin Spaulding vessel.

The board is considering a fee in the range of $2 to $5, according to a press release on the district's website.

Commuters would have the option of buying a prepaid monthly pass for $20 to $100 in 10, 15 or 20-days increments.

Cost of the program or expected revenue haven't yet been determined. The fee is being suggested as part of an ongoing effort to raise additional revenue to pay for ongoing maintenance and service and maintenance improvements.
