Presidential Debate Draws Dozens to Listen and Laugh at the Lark

Voters eschew the Giants' game and weather the rain for a community presidential debate event at the Lark Theater.

Nobody could've faulted those headed to the Lark Theater in downtown Larkspur Monday night to watch the presidential debate if they'd made a last-minute detour for the Silver Peso to watch the San Francisco Giants advance to the 2012 World Series instead.

But despite a simultaneous major Bay Area sports moment and an insistent rain, nearly three dozen people turned out to the third and final debate between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney. The room was filled primarily with Obama supporters and many of them said they thought he won the debate, continuing the momentum he established in last week's town hall event.

The night also featured a number laugh-inducing lines, none bigger than Obama's "horses and bayonets" line in response of Romney's accusations about the shrinking size of the naval fleet.
