Report Nearly Final On Bees, Chickens

Corte Madera Planning Commission will hold its third public workshop on the keeping of bees and chickens tonight.

More chickens and bees could soon be nesting in Corte Madera.

The town's planning commission will hold its third public workshop Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to craft the outlines for legislation regarding the keeping of bees and chickens in Corte Madera.

The commission was originally charged with the job of updating existing legislation after neighbors started butting heads over beehives and chicken coops and the police started receiving more complaints. One resident questioned limits on beekeeping during open time at a Town Council meeting.

After receiving plenty of input on both sides from residents of Corte Madera and neighboring towns, the planning commission has fine tuned the legislation and is nearly ready to send it to the Town Council for approval.

The commission will also take up the issue of Nordstrom's planned expansion.
