Town Council Candidates Square Off Tonight

Incumbents Alexandra Cock and Bob Ravasio meet former Corte Madera Town Council member Melissa Gill in a debate leading up to the November elections.

Three veteran Corte Madera officials will meet in a debate tonight at 6 p.m. as the election season heats up.

Mayor Alexandra Cock and Vice-Mayor Bob Ravasio are both up for re-election to the Town Council. Former councilwoman Melissa Gill is also running for one of the two open spots.

The debate will be moderated by the League of Women Voters of Marin County.

Here's a look at the candidates:

Alexandra Cock

The businesswoman, who has previously served as a member of the chamber of commerce and has been on the Corte Madera Town Council the last four years, took the office of mayor after being elected unanimously at a Dec. 7 Town Council meeting.

Cock, who has 16 years of experience as a financial consultant, is currently president of Wealth Plus, Inc., an organization that offers business planning, financial strategies and other services to Marin residents.

Melissa Gill

Gill served on the Town Council from 1997-2003 and says she's ready for another run. She's currently the secretary for the Corte Madera Chamber of Commerce.

During Gill's previous tenure, the Town Council worked to establish the High Canal pump station and develop a flood control plan for the town.
