What's The Dope In Larkspur?

The City Council will consider a moratorium on marijuana clubs during Wednesday's meeting. The plan to repair Doherty Drive will also be laid out.

There won't be any pot clubs springing up in Larkspur any time soon, it seems.

The Larkspur City Council has been advised by its legal team to tighten restrictions on medical marijuana clubs. The City Council will consider a moratorium on pot clubs during Wednesday night's meeting.

Remember, the start time for Larkspur City Council meetings is now 6:30 p.m.

"There haven't been any (pot clubs) that have approached us," City Manager Dan Schwarz said.

The nearest medical marijuana club is in Corte Madera on Tamal Vista Boulevard.

The Larkspur City Council will also map out a strategy for the rehabilitation of Doherty Drive, vilified as one of the worst-conditioned streets in the Bay Area. Environmental concerns over the nesting clapper rails in the nearby marsh initially delayed the project, but it looks like it's set to go forward soon. Crews are expected to temporarily shut down portions of Doherty Drive around Redwood High School, which means students and parents will have to walk, ride bikes, or find alternate methods of getting to campus.
