Larkspur Hotspots Have Best Burgers

Readers' Choice: Yankee Pier and Tavern at Lark Creek tie in the search for the Twin CIties' Best Burger.

Let's hope there's no sibling rivalry here.

Tavern at Lark Creek and Yankee Pier tied for top honors in the search for "The Best Burger" in the Twin Cities. Both Magnolia Avenue hotspots are part of the Lark Creek Restaurant Group.

Yankee Pier features a half-pound burger on a brioche bun with tasty fries for $12.50. It's worth the extra few dollars, though, to add some cheese and applewood smoked bacon.

Like its neighbor, the Tavern at Lark Creek offers a Marin Sun grass fed burger, this one with aiolo, for $13.95. Tavern also serves up a Masami Ranch wagyu burger and a veggie burger.

This wasn't an easy search by any means. If you're like me, you had to taste at least four or five burgers and even then finding "The Best" was a close call.

Marin Brewing Company was the runner-up in our search, but there's no doubt about the popularity of a burger and a beer among its loyal patrons.

Also receiving votes were Benissimo, Corte Madera Cafe, The Counter, M&G Burgers and Wipeout Bar and Grill.

A special mention goes to Max's Cafe. As one reader wrote in, "Their burgers are pretty tasty. I can never finish one of their burgers during one meal."

Left Bank deserves mention as a great place to while away an afternoon watching Larkspur life from the sidewalk and eating a Fallon Hills Ranch burger.
