Readers' Choice: Stephen Colbert Makes The Call In The Twin Cities

It's a dead heat in the race to find the top sporting goods store in the Twin Cities, so we're calling on special guest judge Stephen Colbert.

REI in the Town Center led in the polls, but Lululemon Athletica had the support of the Facebook crowd. Throw in the voting for Any Mountain and it's tough to decide the winner.

That's why we went to Colbert for the final call.

Actually, we went to the Patch tiebreaker which calls for bonus points for comments and ratings in the directory. So, congratulations to Lululemon for edging REI as The Readers' Choice for "Best Sporting Goods Store" in the Twin Cities.

"My absolute favorite place to shop for athletic apparel! They offer complementary yoga classes every Sunday at 9:30-10:30am, as well as a great run club at 10:00am on Saturdays. I love how involved they are in the local community and the support they show for local fitness instructors," according to Alina.

Of course all the entries have their supporters. Lululemon is popular with the yoga crowd, while REI and Any Mountain draw the outdoor adventure seekers. We also have two popular bicycle shops in town: Village Peddler and City Cycle.
