What does Memorial Day mean to you?

Memorial Day is a day of recognition for those who have served and sacrificed for their country, their families, their friends and all of us.

But there are so many other things that have become associated with Memorial Day: baseball games, parades, sales, barbecues and ice cream.

If you happen to be at the Larkspur Flower and Food Festival on May 27, drop by the Twin Cities Patch table to say hi, then go get some great food. And don't forget the salsa contest.

There's also the farmers market at Marin Country Mart and your choice of gourmet food trucks (at Marin Country Mart on Sundays and at the Larkspur ferry terminal most weekdays) to visit over the holiday weekend.

When you're out and about enjoying the Memorial Day weekend, why not indulge a little bit with an ice cream cone, a root beer float, or whatever hits the spot?
