5 Things To Do Monday

Take in some high school sports or a play, but have fun.

SPORTS
Redwood High School hosts two events Monday at 4 p.m. The girls soccer team plays Napa High and the softball team takes on Windsor High. Games are subject to change due to weather.

ARTS & MUSIC
• Rock historian Richie Unterberger will show rare film clips of some of the greatest and most important women in the history of rock. This list includes Brenda Lee, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Grace Slick and more. The free presentation, held at Redwood High School's Little Theater at 7 p.m., is open to all.

• James Dunn and the College of Marin players take to the stage through March with "Detective Story," based on the 1951 Kirk Douglas movie. It's a gritty drama set in a New York police department with a fascinating cast of characters showing every aspect of humanity. Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 for students, seniors and COM employees and alumni. Call 415-485-9385 for details.

• The Marin Society of Artists opens its March show "Dance, Music and Flowers" this week. Entries are on exhibit through March 27. The gallery is located at 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Ross.

REI and the Lark Theater present a local screening of the Banff Mountain Film Festival today and Tuesday, 7-10 p.m. The event, which features documentaries on the environment, thrill sports and more, is a benefit for the Conservation Corps North Bay. Tickets are $17 for REI members, $20 for non-members.
