Larkspur, Corte Madera Students Heading to 'The Cove'
The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District meets Wednesday to consider a new name for its new San Clemente school.
School officials agree they've found the right name to represent the newest school in the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District.
Officials are scheduled to officially vote during Wednesday's district meeting on the name of the new Cove School, located in the Mariner Cove neighborhood.
According to the recommendations of the school board's naming committee, the school name reflects the local geography and nautical history of the region.
After the school is officially named, Principal Michelle Walker is expected to host a kickoff event for families in early June. The School District will also work on designing a logo for the new school.
Wednesday's meeting will be held in open session at 6 p.m. at the Hall Middle School Library.
