Marin Catholic Football Rolls To Title Game

Top-seeded Wildcats romp to another victory in the North Coast Section semifinals over Encinal.

An undefeated season goes a long toward boosting a team's confidence. Marin Catholic was confident from the start of the season the Wildcats had a championship-caliber football team.

Now they have the chance to prove it.

The top-seeded Wildcats will take on No. 3 Campolindo on Dec. 10, 7 p.m., at the Oakland Coliseum in the North Coast Section Div. III championship game.

The Wildcats are not only unbeaten, but have been little tested this year, except for three non-league games to start the season. They steamrolled third-seeded Encinal (11-2) 41-6 in Saturday's semifinal. In three NCS playoff games, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents 137-20.

Campolindo (13-0) also has an undefeated streak on the line in the title game after Friday's 35-24 victory over No. 2 Cardinal Newman.

Quarterback Jared Goff's arm has been a key part of the Wildcats' arsenal this season, but as Encinal discovered Saturday, they have the legs to run through and around defenses. Goff sealed Saturday's victory with a 3-yard charge up the middle for a third-quarter touchdown, the final score of the game.
