A new 77,000-square-foot Science Math Nursing building opened this semester at College of Marin on the Kentfield campus, a college spokeswoman said Thursday.
The three-story building houses classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices and the college's internal IT department, Nicole Cruz with College of Marin communications and community relations said in a phone interview.
The Science Math Nursing building opened Jan. 14 for the current spring semester, Cruz said.
"Taking advantage of the campus's natural elements, a new West Bridge over Corte Madera Creek will provide an entrance to the newly constructed building that improves access to the campus from the south," college officials said on a facilities modernization web page about the project.
College of Marin began breaking ground for the building in mid-September of 2009 in the upper quadrant of the campus, according to the Echo Times, a college student-run newspaper.
The College of Marin Kentfield campus is at 835 College Ave.
