'Teachers' Jobs Don't End At 3 o'clock'

Local teachers stage a 'Grade-In' at Corte Madera Town Center to protest potential cuts to educational spending.

State California Teachers Association representative Sue Holland describes Tuesday's 'Grade-In' as the first — but not necessarily the last — event of its kind.

Local teachers gathered after school to grade papers at Corte Madera Town Center in an attempt to alert the public to what they describe as an 'emergency situation' in state educational funding.

"We have activities planned every day this week," Holland said, "to bring awareness to the cuts in education and to try to convince our legislators that they need to not have an all-cut budget. They need to do whatever it takes to not cut education any more."
