Trustees to Discuss Plans for New Corte Madera Elementary School

The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District Board of Trustees meeting is set for 6 p.m. March 13.

Plans for a new elementary school in Corte Madera are underway and the public will get an update during the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday, March 13. 

Construction for the new school is expected to start July 1, 2013, according to district documents. They are planning for a September 2014 opening. 

During the March 13 meeting, trustees will get an update from Principal Michelle Walker on the planning and development of the new school.

"Program planning is officially underway with the new assignment of Principal Michelle Walker to inspire and lead development of a unique and robust elementary program, curriculum and instructional model," staff reports.

The new school opening will be funded by Measure A, which passed in 2011, and costs are included in the district's three-year budget development, according to district documents.
