The pre-teen years are fraught with physical and emotional changes, academic and social challenges, media pressures that can lead to anxiety, confusion, and frustration. Yoga is a non-competitive physical and mental practice that teaches techniques for relaxation and stress management; enhances flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination; improves body awareness, posture, self esteem; and encourages self-expression. All of these benefits will empower girls to navigate life's challenges with greater ease while developing a healthy body image. Instructor Jennifer Lanciault, a local mom and yoga teacher, offers a yoga class for pre-teen girls (grades 3-6).
