Larkspur Catches Pennant Fever With Giants

Giants fans spilled onto Magnolia Avenue, never mind the rain, to celebrate the San Francisco Giants' dramatic National League Championship Series victory Monday night.

The Giants stormed into 2012 World Series Monday night, scorching the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 behind the undaunted pitching of Matt Cain and the mind-boggling hitting performance by Marco Scutaro, enough to earn him MVP of the National League Championship Series.

Just as pitcher Sergio Romo and the Giants danced in the rain, so did their fans who packed the Silver Peso to watch Game 7. Some of the staff and customers at Restaurant Picco had a little extra bounce in their steps after hearing about the victory.

The orange and black decorations on neighborhood houses aren't just for Halloween now, as Giants fans are looking forward to a World Series championship. San Francisco City Hall was bathed in an orange light as fireworks lit up the sky.

But before the champagne even has a chance to dry in the Giants' locker room, the 2012 World Series kicks off quickly as the Giants host the Detroit Tigers Wednesday at 5:07 p.m. at AT&T Park. 

For those of you hoping to score some tickets, good luck. As the Giants note on their ticket website, "the ticket prices are based on current market value and will fluctuate based on factors affecting supply and demand." And given the joyful screams, car horns and fireworks in San Francisco Monday night, demand will be incredibly high.
