Americans on Everest, Blackfish, Running Blind and More Featured at the Throckmorton Fall Film Fest

The second annual Throckmorton Theatre Mountain Film Fall Festival (TTMF), kicks off this week with 11 feature films.

Nonprofit live-arts center Throckmorton Theatre, will host its second annual Throckmorton Theatre Mountain Film Fall Festival (TTMF), running this Thursday through Nov. 24.

Following last year’s rave reviews at the inaugural TTMF Festival and the recent sucess of TTMF Summer Series, organizers are calling it one of Mill Valley's new traditions.

A press release boasts the upcoming Fall Festival is looking to be bigger and better than ever before, with over 35 brand new award-winning documentaries ranging in topic from adventure sports to environmental activism, plus top-tier guest speakers and a number of parties and special outdoor and art-related events.

Plans include screenings of 11 films Nov. 21-24, each with newly released feature-length films including K2 Siren of the Himalaya, McConkey, The Crash Reel, High and Hallowed - Americans on Everest, Maiden Trip, Wings of Life, North of the Sun, Rising from the Ashes, Honnold 3.0, Running Blind, and Blackfish.

Each screening will have several special exclusive short films and associated guest speakers.

Following the screening on Thursday, November 21, a grand Opening Night Party will be held at Piazza D’Angelo in downtown Mill Valley, with filmmakers and special guests in attendance.

Two of this year's screenings will be tailored to children and families and one screening is perfect for mothers with adventurous daughters (although the boys are welcome too)!

For cycling enthusiasts, there will be a special screening on Sunday of this year's most excellent MountainFilm cycling documentaries and two professionally guided mountain bike rides on Mt. Tam.

TTMF will also be bringing back the much-loved “Coffee Talk” Seminars on Saturday and Sunday mornings at Vasco Restaurant, where festival participants have a chance to engage in intimate conversations with filmmakers and special guests. Additionally, after the 7:30pm screenings on Saturday and Sunday, there will be premium wine receptions held at the theatre’s lobby bar.
