Free Family Biking Workshop Series

Learn to ride with your children ... Give your children freedom and healthy habits ... Learn the rules of the road

The Marin County Bicycle Coalition, through a grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, is offering a series of four free workshops on family bicycling starting in October at the Larkspur Recreation Department 240 Doherty Drive in Larkspur.

This free training is for parents and their children to learn safe bicycle riding
skills.  Topics covered will include rules of the road on-the-bike skills, and more advanced road skills.  The series will culminate with a fun family bike ride.

This series of two-hour workshops will teach your family how to safely navigate streets with proper equipment and behavior.

The workshops can be taken individually or as a series:

  • Oct. 13: Intro to Family Bicycling - Test your skills with a few simple drills; recommended for K-3 or beginning bicyclists
  • Oct. 20: Family Bike Rodeo - Practice riding off-street; recommended for beginners to proficient bicyclists
  • Oct 27: Riding as a Family - Learn and practice advanced skills; recommended for grades 3-5 or children capable of riding on the road with a parent.
  • Nov 3: Family Fun Ride - Enjoy a fun ride for the whole family

Advanced registration is required.  Click here to register.  For more information contact peggy@marinbike.org

Prop 37 would have exempted "organic" food from the labeling requirement. What sense doesRead More that make? (Answer: none.)
