Former College of Marin instructor Carter Cary Hanner passed away March 23, 2012. He was 74. He spent his final years with his family in Southern Oregon, according to the Mail Tribune. He is survived by his wife Molly, daughters Laura Cary Hanner, Gilly Ann Hanner, Megan Suzanne Hanner, his father Alan Hanner and sister Martha Ann Hanner.

Friends who knew Pamela Auer remember how she went through life with a feeling of peace and optimism, right up until her death recently at age 67, reported by the Topanga Messenger, which she co-founded. She had been battling brain cancer for the past three years. Auer is survived by her husband Steve, daughters Stephanie and Roxane, and 1-year-old grandson Emory. Auer, who attended Redwood High School from 1959-1962, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1966 with a degree in Sociology. She pursued a passion for caring for animals and the environment and also a career in film making.
