About Derek

Born and raised in Mill Valley, I have spent most of my life in Marin County.
After graduating from Sacramento State with a degree in journalism, I returned home to cover sports for the Marin Independent Journal. I have since worked at several papers in Northern California, covering local sports, arts and more.
Joining Larkspur-Corte Madera Patch gives me the opportunity to return to the community I love and to help my neighbors by keeping them informed of local news. Together, we'll tell the stories that really matter to our neighborhood.

Hi Derek,
Couldn't find a private email. Hope it's okay to reach out this way...

I'm JC, a local Bay Area writer wondering if you ever do book reviews, or local author interviews in the Larkspur-CorteMadera Patch?

If so, I'm submitting REVERB for your perusal-- a psychological thriller paced with romantic suspense, a love story about a beautiful, rich master musician who learns to love someone other than himself. (Women's Literature)

The first six chapters of REVERB can be read (on most electronic devices) here:

or here in pdf/doc/odt/text:

Please let me know if you'd like the complete novel in paperback or ebook. I am also available for online interviews, answer questions directly, honestly and uniquely for each post. I'm happy to meet with local book clubs. Please let me know if interested.

Thanks,
Jeri Cafesin
