Food, Sun, Music and FUN!

Bon Air Center's Spring Fair 2011 attracts many locals of all ages.

The yearly Bon Air Center Spring Fair was well attended on Saturday. The Polynesian Music of Faith Ako filled the air, as the dancers from Halau Hula Na Pua O Ka La'akea performed in front of an extremely appreciative crowd.

Tables were filled with locals eating from the nearby restaurants. Children were having their faces painted and their was a balloon artist twisting balloons. The Magic Circus was set to perform at 2 p.m.

Puff the dog was looking adorable sitting on the fountain with his owners, Sudi and Ali of San Rafael.  Sudi shared, “This is wonderful! I love it!”

Many were strolling down the food tasting and sample aisle in front of Mollie Stones. There were representatives from many of the products carried at the store:

Pirates Booty, Al Fresco Sausage, Good Belly drinks, Macro Greens, Earthly Elements, Bungalow Munch, Jeremiah’s Coffee, Lucini Italia, Wildwood Tofu, Lundberg Rice Chips, Boars Head, Tom’s Toothpaste, Pharmacopia, Go Girl sugar free energy drink, Hint drinks and Nature’s Plus, to name just a few!  They were all giving tastes to try and/or giveaways to take home.

I met 7-year-old Sawyer at the Rosie the Free Range Chicken of Petaluma table.  He told me, “I’m putting the toothpicks in the chicken.” His father, Michael, added, “Sawyer is also in charge of quality control. He tastes about every third or fourth piece!”  They were grilling the delicious chicken fresh right there.

Becky was giving out samples for the River Soap Company of San Francisco. “We are an all natural, all vegetable, triple French milled soap," she said. "The triple French milling makes our soaps last a lot longer than other all natural soaps. They are scented with essential oils, all our soaps have almond oil, which is really moisturizing. All the soaps are biodegradable, good for the environment and good for your body.”

Alisa with Vaska detergent out of Berkeley told me, “Our company got the San Francisco Giants to go green. They use all our products in their clubhouse and on all their uniforms. This company is an all natural green company.”

As I tasted my way down the long aisle of yummy foods and products, I met Maria of Greenbrae who told me, “I have made my way through the booths of food by Mollie Stones. I sampled my way through the world cuisine, from Indian to vegan to everything. It is delicious! I can’t imagine what awaits on the other side…”

It was a wonderful sunny afternoon. There was a lot of energy, conversation, laughing, music, and dancing. Many locals were able to enjoy the bounty of Bon Air Center’s shops and restaurants. Another great community event!
