It's a literary celebration this week in Larkspur and Corte Madera, with several chances to hear new poetry and to explore your own writing skills.

Here are some of the highlights happening around the Larkspur and Corte Madera Twin Cities area August 6-7

The traveling show arrives in Larkspur with some of the most engaging poets from around Marin County. The Larkspur Library will host the Marin Poetry Center Summer Traveling Show on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Catlyn Fendler, will host local Marin poets Calvin Ahlgren, Gabrielle Rilleau, Robin Jacobson, Sandy Scull, Susan Terris, Laurel Feigenbaum. The poets will read selections from their own works.

• Youth Writing Workshop: Karen Benke says "Leap Write In" with her Experimental Writing Camp for the Middle School Crowd. The four-week class starts Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Book Passage in Corte Madera. The focus will be on tapping into inspiration and technique to create poems, mini-memoirs, and imaginative sketches. The camp is limited to 12 students. The fee is $200.

• Library Story Time: The Corte Madera Library welcomes Mother Goose and parents with young children on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

• Prenatal Yoga: Exercise your body and soothe your soul during pregnancy. Drop by YogaWorks Larkspur for a prenatal yoga class Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. Meet other pregnant women and enjoy a circle of support. Please contact Janna Barkin directly for more information about prenatal yoga, mom and baby yoga, and also childbirth preparation classes at 415-898-3555, or jannabarkinyoga@gmail.com. The fee is $22.
